Empowering people with disabilities

Around the world, people with disabilities lack equal access to education and employment. Globally, ninety-five percent of books and educational materials are in formats that cannot be read by people with dyslexia, blindness, low vision, and other disabilities. And in some parts of the world, availability can be as little as one percent. 

Bookshare is an initiative of Benetech, a nonprofit that empowers people with disabilities to read and learn in ways that work for them. Through our accessible ebook library and powerful reading tools, we create opportunities for people with disabilities to learn, work, and build sustainable livelihoods.
